Specialty Fibre
Sumitomo offers a wide range of specialty fibres for high-speed transmission systems. Out products include…
Sumitomo’s Pureshaper® Dispersion Compensating Fibre Module (DCFM) is optimised for DWDM applications and its wide product line up accommodates many types of NZ-DSF.
The Pureshaper® series includes special models for High Slope NZ-DSF compensation. Historically, high slope NZ-DSF such as LEAF® has been challenging fibre for a DCFM. Our special High Slope models have high and well-controlled RDS, Relative Dispersion Slope, to make this possible.
Our new Pureshaper® series Compact Dispersion Adjuster module is just 110x110x10mm. Use the Pureshaper® CDA where a small amount of dispersion compensation is required, such as metro networks, individual compensation of signals dropped through ADMs and for precise adjustment of dispersion in long haul systems.
Our Erbium Doped Fibre (EDF) has the broad, flat spectra required for high efficiency in DWDM operation. Sumitomo offers EDF for both L-Band and C-Band use.
Sumitomo Polarisation Maintaining Fibre is produced using leading edge technologies to give distinguished optical performance. Available for 630, 850, 980, 1310, 1400-1490 and 1550nm operation, our high birefringence, low polarisation cross-talk and low attenuation mean Sumitomo PMF is a leading choice for photonic applications.
Highly Non Linear Fibre, HNLF, tuned to a high Raman Gain Co-efficient is designed for Raman amplification applications. The fibre is designed to have low noise characteristics and high non linearity to achieve a high Raman gain over a broad wavelength range.
