 New Materials, for heatsink

niches in completely new fields. Sumitomo Electric has successfully
leveraged its expertise in the field of materials, gained in
the expertise of optoelectric and microwave components, with
the key technologies in semiconductor devices.
To dissipate the large amount of heat generated during operation,
Sumitomo Electric developed a large variety of heatsink materials
with unique features such as high thermal conductivity, low coefficient
of thermal expansion and low dielectric constant.
Today, Copper Tungsten ( CuW ), Aluminium Nitride Ceramics
( AlN ), CVD Diamond ( Chemical Vapour Deposited Diamond ), Sumicrystal
( Synthetic Single Crystal Diamond Type 1b), and DMCH ( Diamond
Metal Composite for Heatsink ) etc. are available from Sumitomo
Electric.
