| The QST-02 is the tool used for assembly of Quick-SC connectors. The connector barrel is first placed into the QST-02. On squeezing the QST-02 the mechanical splice inside the connector barrel is opened, ready to accept a cleaved fibre end. The fibre is inserted into the barrel with the help of the QST-02’s fibre guides. On releasing the QST-02, the mechanical splice in the connector barrel grips the fibre and the barrel and fibre can be removed together from the QST-02.
Sumitomo offers a toolkit for Quick-SC preparation. The kit is supplied in a tough Peli® case and can be ordered with or without an FC-6S-C cleaver; as Q-SC_TKIT1 and Q-SC_TKIT2 respectively.
