Erbium Doped Fibre Amplifier
Sumitomo Electric offer a wide arrange of EDFAs (Erbium Doped
Fibre Amplifiers) with the following features:

Low noise
High speed auto gain control (AGC)
Digital or analogue control
Compact size packages as small as 72(L) x 50(W) x 9 (H)mm
Raman Amplifier for CWDM transmission
Sumitomo Electric offers the world's first practical "lumped
constant" type Raman amplifier module. This module can amplify a multiplexed
optical signal using special fibre stored inside the chassis. Sumitomo
developed the special fibre for Raman amplification to offer eight-times
higher efficiency of Raman amplification than conventional products. The new
fibre reduces the number of required pump laser diodes for Raman amplification,
enabling a low-cost "lumped constant" type Raman amplifier with the following features:
Wide band amplification employing multiple wavelength pump laser diodes
Seamless amplification of CWDM signals
